Do not get me wrong, my heart is pacing itself through the numb phase of heartbreak at the moment, for the guitar instructor/ rockstar/ mountain man/ romantic, intellectual, dreamboat I dedicated 863 days of my soul to, informed me last night that he has "lost all hope for our future, but I really WAS who he wanted to be with forever....": I'm devasted to put it lightly.
Yet, instead of wallowing in my self pity, (considering I am far from the first woman to ever suffer from a broken heart), I am taking my fabulous Nana's advice, "Count your blessings!"
So here are my blessings for the day:
1. My sister called me at 10:19 p.m. (immediately after it happened) and my mother at 7:52 a.m. (walking into work) just to inform me they love me and I will be okay.
2. I have the bestest most fun loving BFFs who have already arranged to celebrate my singledom with for Ladies night out tomorrow!
3. The human body is incredible- I am healthy- I ran almost 7 miles I think (that may be an exaggeration) which is the most ever at one time for me.
4. The rolling fog intrigued me from the 9th floor of the NBC tower where I am grateful to be employed with a slightly boring, yet relatively stress free job.
5. Music- in particular this is my new theme song- Locked Up- from Ingrid Michaelson's new album Everybody,
6. My father (that's us -->)
Everyday I will will continue more regularly, however, the site makeover begins with a hopefully hilarious twist on "the dIVA'S dIARY of dO'S and dONT'S of dAYdREAMING, dATING, dINING, dIRTY dANCING, and dOING iT!"
Yes, I am the dIVA....
A closing quote shared from Care, a friend who always knows the right words of wisdom and inspiration at exactly the right time:
“The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts. Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development, who love good music, good books, good pictures, good company, good conversation, are the happiest people in the world. And they are not only happy in themselves, they are the cause of happiness in others." — William Lyon Phelps
